TRAINING
General
Training on most equipment can be provided by experienced users, with exceptions list below.
Once trained, please update the user list form to update the equipment you are using.
Leica STELLARIS5 Confocal Microscope
Fill the training request form and contact Xinming to request training on the confocal microscope.
1. The whole training will include 2 sessions: a one-to-one orientation and training, and an observed self-operation session as qualification. After which, access to the confocal will be granted.
2. The first training session will take 2-3 hours, as such, only 1-2 sessions per week will be provided. But I would be happy to discuss if the laser point-by-point confocal fits your application before the training.
3. Given the relatively sophisticated operation, it is essential to have enough practice right after the training. It is expected the one who takes the training is planning to use the confocal microscope at least 2-3 times in the following 2-3 weeks after training. Otherwise, access may be revoked.
4. Stanford Imaging facility also provides informative guides that can be found here: Choosing the microscope, Fundamental concepts, Sample preparation. It is also recommended to contact them for professional suggestions if needed for specific needs.
